Jay Z Pays Tribute to ‘Friends’ in ‘Moonlight’ Music Video

Jay Z’s new music video Moonlight is a major flashback for 90s fans!

The Moonlight video pays homage to the hit TV show Friends and includes a brand new cast. Jay Z chose to remake the episode “The One Where No One’s Ready” and perfectly recreated Monica’s iconic New York apartment.

The video features Insecure actress Issa Rae as Rachel, actress Tessa Thompson as Monica, and actress Tiffany Haddish as Phoebe. Jerrod Carmichael plays Ross, Get Out star Lil Rey Howery is Joey, and actor Lakeith Stanfield takes on Chandler.

Jay Z not only put his own spin on the Friends episode but he also included audio from the mistake that occurred during the 2017 Oscars’ Best Picture win.

Moonlight is a song from Jay Z’s newly released album 4:44 which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Jay Z will soon perform songs from his new album on the 4:44 North American Tour which is set to start in October.
