Most of us can’t imagine a world where Chrissy Teigen and John Legend weren’t couple goals.

Yet, according to Legend in this interview with The Guardian, there was a moment when he wanted to break-up with Teigen, and she just told him no. Less than thirty minutes later they were back together, got married in Italy in 2013, and now have 16-month-old Luna.

“I was really stressed and busy,” he told The Guardian. “I was just like: ‘I’d just be happier single right now,’ and she was like: ‘No.’” Legend went on to talk about what Teigen means to him.

“She pushes me to be funnier,” he explained, “not because she’s trying to, I think it’s just being around her. And to be bolder.”

Teigen obviously responded to this part of his interview on Twitter, hilariously calling Legend out for being a “whiny face” that day, and praising how they are still 11 years strong. Honestly, they were couple goals even during this “break-up.”

Legend also spoke about social media, a huge staple for both him and Teigen, who was blocked by Donald Trump over a pretty generic “loser” tweet (which is sad since there were definitely better tweets to be banned over). He explained that social media for them is a balance of marketing and real life.

“I think it would be harder if we were trying to put up some facade that wasn’t real, but since who we are on social media is really natural and really a reflection of who we are in our private life in a lot of ways, I think it feels very unforced for us,” he said. “It feels like a natural conversation. When I talk about politics on Twitter, when I Instagram my daughter, these are just the things I’m thinking about and the things I care about.”

Here’s to hoping they continue to unabashedly be themselves online, and never break-up again.
