Kate Winslet played Rose DeWitt Bukater in James Cameron’s hit film, Titanic, which was the highest-grossing movie of all time until Cameron’s Avatar premiered in 2009. Now the two are again reuniting for another movie.

Winslet has signed onto the ongoing Avatar saga taking on the role of Ronal. If you remember back in 1997, Winslet told the Los Angeles Times, “You’d have to pay me a lot of money to work with Jim [Cameron] again,” but said later in 2012 that her quote was misinterpreted and that Cameron “only lost his temper for really, really good reasons.”

Cameron appears to be past the remarks as well stating:

“Kate and I have been looking for something to do together for 20 years, since our collaboration on ‘Titanic,’ which was one of the most rewarding of my career,” Cameron said in an interview with Deadline. “I can’t wait to see her bring the character of Ronal to life.”

The LA Times reports that filming for Avatar 2″ began last week and that Winslet will be joining returning cast members such as Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang. The movie is scheduled to premiere on Dec. 18, 2020.
