While Sex and the City fans were disappointed with the shut down of a third movie, partly due to Samantha Jones actress Kim Cattrall not wanting to participate. However, co-star Kristen Davis says she hasn’t given up hope for future projects.
Davis, who played the sophisticated and well-mannered Charlotte York on the series, spoke with E! Online on the red carpet before hosting the 2017 Princess Grace Awards Gala Wednesday night at the Beverly Hilton. She gave a bit of hope that the fabulous New Yorker ladies will again come together in the future.
“I’m just grateful. I know my co-stars are grateful as well that we have the fan support, that we have each other, that we love each other,” Davis said. “We still…maybe we’ll figure out something to do, I don’t know, it would be great. I just feel like it’s a positive thing all the way around. I’m sad that we’re not doing the movie but at the same time, I love the support so much and I’m so grateful for it.”
Back in September when Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed a third Sex and the City movie would not be happening, Davis said it was “deeply frustrating” not being able to complete the chapters of their characters on their own terms.
“For us, It’s hard because we have been doing it for a long time and it has been an amazing journey,” Kristin said. “We have a franchise that we built over 20 years almost for 4 leading women which is almost unheard of.”
