The Weeknd is collaborating with Marvel Comics to create a brand new comic book series that The Weeknd himself will star in.

The new series will be titled, Starboy, named after his third studio album and 2016 hit single. Other than the name, we don’t know much else about the comic book aside from its release date in 2018. The Weeknd took to Twitter to promote the new collaboration by teasing the cover photo for the first issue.

The Weeknd and Marvel presents : STARBOY… comic book coming soon. I’ll be signing autographs in the Marvel Booth @ 2:30 #NYCC

The Weeknd originally announced his Starboy alter-ego at New York Comic-Con with a giant photo of the cover as he met with fans and signed autographs.

And that’s pretty much all the information we have. Elite Daily had the theory that the music video for the single, “Starboy,” possibly inspired the comic’s story:

“The music video actually seems to fit in very well with the gritty, dark, and more down-to-earth heroes Marvel has been featuring lately on their TV shows like Jessica Jones and Daredevil. If the Starboy that The Weeknd is portraying in the music video is the same as the Starboy we’ll see in the comics, then we might be seeing that red neon cross (his weapon of choice) make an appearance in print.”
