The announcement that the hit Halloween classic Hocus Pocus will be made into another movie caused fans to celebrate. But the excitement didn’t last long when it was confirmed that the original witches, Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy would not be featured in the reboot. Midler is not here for it either. At her annual Hulaween party in New York last night, the Winifred Sanderson actress had this to say on the remake.
“I know it’s cheap. It’s going to be cheap!” she told People Magazine. “I’m not sure what they’re going to do with my character . . . My character is very, very broad and I don’t know who they’re going to find to play that.” Vogue suggested that Adele was channeling Winifred in her Halloween costume this year and that she could be a good fit for the head witch, but no cast members have been confirmed for the remake.
Midler was also asked if she would return to Salem in the remake for any price to which she said, “No, no, no!”
