The former football player has landed a very prestigious role with the British Fashion industry. David Beckham has been appointed as ambassadorial president of the British Fashion council. Since this is a newly created role, he will take on the role for two years.
The goal of The British Fashion Council is to build network and partnerships across the United States and China. In his new role, Beckham will work alongside leading editors and designers from the industry as well as visiting fashion programs in the UK.
“Taking on this new role is an incredibly proud moment for me,” Beckham said in a statement. “I have long been passionate about British style, fashion and craftsmanship and this role gives me the chance to get under the skin of an industry I love.”
