Fountain of Truth Beauty Line by Giuliana Rancic: Interview

Giuliana Rancic who is mostly known for her work on E! News has recently added a new venture to the long list of businesses she owns – a beauty line called Fountain of Truth.

We got a chance to interview Giuliana and ask her all about the beauty line – the benefits of the products, technology used to create great products that actually work, the challenges and plans for the future as well as how she manages to be so successful in everything she does: being a TV host, fashion icon, fashion designer, best selling author, restaurateur and owning a wine line.

Interesting name for the beauty line. How did you come up with that?

When thinking of what to call my eco-luxe beauty line I wanted the name to describe what it is…truthful. I believe clean beauty helps create a radiant, more youthful looking complexion without having to sacrifice on performance. The name actually came to me quickly and very naturally and my friends and family loved it right away.

On the website, fermentation is the process that you guys are using to create the products. It says: “Fermentation is a process of breaking down ingredients into smaller molecules.” But can you explain in a couple of words so that people who don’t really know chemistry and physics can understand? Why is it good for you?

Our hero technology is the Super Bio-Ferment Complex of clean, safe, gentle, and highly effective, fermented skin-loving botanical and earth derived ingredients of Zinc, Iron, Copper, Magnesium and Wakame Seaweed, which helps to achieve softer, smoother, more luminous skin with visibly more volume. The complete product collection, ranging from a serum, to masks, and more- is designed to enable consumers to enhance their beauty with efficacious, earth derived skincare offerings in luxurious matte white and rose gold packaging.

What differentiates your beauty line from other products, and who is your target audience?

The line is for all skin types. I wanted to make sure I created an inclusive line that provided clean, effective and gentle skincare solutions for people of all ages, ethnicities and skin types.

What is the hardest/most challenging part of creating a beauty line?

We wanted the products to be very special and perfect so we went through various formulations to finally get them right. We also did clinicals on every single product because we wanted to know exactly how people would respond to each product. These factors made it a longer process to actually get the line to market but it was important to me to get it right and in the end, it took over two years to create Fountain of Truth but it was so worth the wait!

The packaging looks gorgeous. I’d get it even to just make my bathroom look pretty. Was that your first choice for a design and color combinations?

Thank you. I love hearing that! I feel like the packaging can tell a lot about a brand and I wanted my skincare line to look simple, natural and chic as well as being able to be a beautiful display piece on a vanity.

Are you planning on adding products for acne prone skin? How about haircare?

We are working on exciting new product launches in 2019 and beyond! Stay tuned!

Out of all your ventures/business, which one is taking up most of your time?

Every week, I map out what my schedule looks like and in addition to my daily work on E! News, I place a special emphasis on one specific business that is designated for that day. For instance, on Monday, I place more of an emphasis on Fountain of Truth, Tuesday on Giuliana Prosecco, Wednesday on my charity FabUWish, Thursday on my clothing line G by Giuliana on HSN and Fridays on our restaurants, RPM Italian and RPM Steak. That’s not to say I don’t tend to all my businesses every single day but on those specific days, I carve out about two to three hours of my work day to focus on that specific passion of mine. Being organized and planning ahead each week keeps me focused and on track. You can’t accomplish much without a road map. I don’t get into my car each day not having a clue of where I am going and that’s how I feel about being a successful businesswoman and entrepreneur. You need a road map to get you to where you need to go.

People say that visualization is power. Have you ever seen yourself being a TV host, fashion icon, fashion designer, best selling writer, restauranteur, creating your line of wine AND beauty products. How does one achieve all of that? Any tips?

I believe in visualizing your future and took that practice to heart when I was first starting out and continue to. I didn’t exactly envision much beyond being an entertainment journalist since that was my dream from the time I was a little girl but as I set smaller goals and achieved them, it gave me the confidence to set bigger and bigger goals. I now think there is nothing
out of the question or beyond my reach. No dream too big. I truly think I can achieve anything I set my heart and mind to and I think that’s a very healthy attitude to have and one that can bring success. If you don’t believe in yourself wholeheartedly, who will?
