Gigi Hadid Drops Out Of The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai

Gigi Hadid lost her angel wings this year.

After previously posting about her excitement to participate in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show in Shanghai, China, the 22-year-old supermodel confirmed her plans changed last minute and she will no longer be participating. Gigi tweeted:

I’m so bummed I won’t be able to make it to China this year. Love my VS family, and will be with all my girls in spirit!! Can’t wait to tune in with everyone to see the beautiful show I know it will be, and already can’t wait for next year! 🙂 x

Hadid didn’t give a reason on why she is no longer attending but people were shocked since she had already been confirmed to walk the runway. She mentions in her tweet that she “already can’t wait for next year” so it appears she is still on good terms with Victoria’s Secret.

Rumors and reports have been circulating that Gigi and some other models couldn’t get their Chinese visas approved and that’s the reason behind the last minute cancellation, but the model has yet to comment on those reports.

However, fans on Twitter are suggesting a video posted online where Gigi is holding up and imitating a Buddha statue is the reasons she can’t get approved to travel to China. The model faced backlash and accusations of being racist at the time of the video’s leak.

However, some fans feel Gigi deserves to walk the runway and are still standing by her.

Gigi’s sister, Bella, is still expected to walk runway at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show, which will air on CBS on Nov. 28.
