After Riccardo Tisci joined Burberry as a chief creative officer, we’ve all been waiting to see what he has planned for the brand.
Today Tisci posted on his Instagram a photo of him and Vivienne Westwood and their collaboration together.
“Vivienne Westwood was one of the first designers who made me dream to become a designer myself and when I first started at Burberry, I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to approach her to do something,” Tisci said in a statement. “She is a rebel, a punk and unrivalled in her unique representation of British style, which has inspired so many of us. I am so incredibly proud of what we will be creating together.”
We’ll see the collection in September but according to the images he shared on social media, he will stick to some classics.
I wanted to celebrate the beauty, heritage and legacy that I discovered when I first arrived at Burberry. ‘B Classic' is an edit that I've curated to honour the icons of the House – pieces like the trench coat, the quilted jacket, the car coat, the kilt – which sits at the heart of the SS19 pre collection designed by the fantastic Burberry design team. @burberry #bclassic🇬🇧
Riccardo has worked for Givenchy previously.
