New York City Ballet is taking a page out of The Metropolitan Museum’s (MetGala) book: To raise money for a cultural institution, Fashion’s a way to do it. So far, the fashion gala has raised over 15 million for the ballet since 2012. This year, NYCB which is chaired by Sarah Jessica Parker, will premiere three new ballets featuring costumes designed by Alberta Ferretti, Gareth Pugh and Giles Deacon. The designer’s work will be paired with choreography done by Kyle Abraham and Gianna Reisen and Matthew Neenan.
Deacon, Ferretti, Pugh, and Deacon will be joining at impressive lineup of labels who were involved in designing for the gala which includes Off-White, Oscar de la Renta, Valentino, Thom Browne, Opening Ceremony and Dries Van Noten. Performances will take place on Thursday, September 27th.
