Jacquemus First Men’s Spring 2019 Collection

On Monday, Designer Simon Porte Jacquemus presented his first men’s collection on an secluded beach near Marseille. As the runway show fell a day after Europe’s men’s season officially wrapped up, a selected group of editors made their way to attend the show. Rows of blue towels had been laid out for the editors on the beach as seating for the sandy runway on the water’s edge.

A relaxed, preppy, Mediterranean wardrobe for “real” guys was the inspiration behind the collection. Knitwear being a major focus of the wardrobe, along with the palette covered all the blues of the sea and all the shades of the sun. The overall collection was exciting.

“I grew up here, right behind those big limestone rocks. I grew up here, between the olive trees and the red tomato fields. I grew up here, with those men in blue tracksuits, matching blue bags and hats, all light blue,” said the designer in the show notes.

This is one designer we have to watch. Below is a few highlights from his show.
